The "maple story" like game has the main maze where the snail warrior goes through three levels. When the snail warrior encounters an icon, a subgame will appear; the snail warrior can accumulate points by completing each subgame. The points will be converted to HP for the final fight with boss at the final level.
The subgames are:
- Snake Game (Jierui Li)
- Shooting Game (Yumeng Xue)
- Nature Game (Ziyi Zhang/me)
- Whack-A-Mole (BalasubramanyamEvani)
- Dinasour Game (Shixin Zhou)
- Object catching Game (Abdulhamid Mathkur)
Credit shall also be given to Yuhei Sugano for integrating different subgames and the main maze.
Here is an video of sample play.
The nature game is composed of two parts:
- nature video
- quiz
Nature Video
Various objects are created and different events take place due to changes in state, e.g. stop of raining when rain_state is 0 and also time e.g. when real_time is greater than scene_end_time, the ending message will appear.
Various shapes including but not limited to flower, wind and lightning using geometries determined by mathematical formula. The logic behind the flower petals geometry is explained as the following.
Oval shape is used to simulate flower petals and the general mathematical expression:
x = a * sin(θ)
y = b * cos(θ)
where a and b are the semi-major and semi-minor axes, respectively.
The loop iterates through angles θ to generate points on the ellipse.
Quiz
The Quiz has five questions and the player can use mouse to click on the boxes to select answers. The
FsGetMouseEvent() function is used to get user's mouse input and
YsGlDrawFontBitmap() function is used to present various messages, e.g. questions and answers.
